Attendee Agreement & Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

CITE values the participation of all those present and is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all attendees and staff. This Policy applies to all participants — attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, staff, Board Members, and service providers — across all CITE meeting-related events.

! CITE has zero-tolerance for discrimination or harassment of any kind. If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, notify a CITE staff or Board member immediately.

Expected Behavior

Listen actively. Make room for diverse voices. Facilitators may invite participation but should not pressure those who haven't expressed willingness to engage.
Respect everyone. Demonstrate consideration for all people and be conscious of power dynamics, privilege, and experience levels.
Critique ideas, not people. Focus feedback on concepts, not individuals.
Foster inclusion. Ensure people from various backgrounds are included on panels, in sessions, and in conversations.
Protect confidentiality. Respect the privacy of individuals involved in any conduct concern while it is being reviewed.
Report concerns. Report conduct issues promptly so they can be addressed responsibly.
Comply with instructions. Follow directions from leaders, facilitators, venue officials, or CITE officials promptly. Address questions or concerns afterward through official channels.

Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
Verbal abuse directed at any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, or staff member.
Stereotyping or generalizations about any group of people.
Personal attacks or offensive verbal comments.
Excessive intoxication that disrupts activities or involves law enforcement or EMT services.
Recording or transmitting any sessions, presentations, demos, or content in any format — strictly prohibited.
Disrupting presentations during sessions, in the exhibit hall, or at other CITE-organized events.

Enforcement

CITE reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without warning or refund.

CITE further reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any current or future meeting, virtually or in-person, if the Terms & Conditions are violated.
